Technique: Becoming Group Conscious
This is an adaptation of the text of Lesson 2, in Teacher Training, by Lucille Cedercrans. It can be simply read and studied, or it can be used as a contemplative meditation. For an audio recording of this paced to give you some time for contemplation click HERE. The term, Cave, is used in this meditation; the Cave is also known as the light in the head, the midway spot or point, and the heart center in the head.
Focus the consciousness in the cave in the center of the head, … and identify as Soul.
Contemplate the meaning of that identification. What does it mean to be an individualizing human being identifying as Soul? Does it mean that you are group conscious? What is group consciousness?
In exploring that meaning, realize that a human being is an individualization of a group. Consider the fact that our individuality is by nature a group, a vast group. To get a sense of that vast group life, that vast group consciousness, consider the group consciousness contained within the subconscious world of each of us.
First, get a sense the group of entities making possible your appearance in time and space.
Scan the physical body and become aware of the organs (heart, brain, lungs, muscles, bones, etc.). … See them as entities, each with life, consciousness, and intelligent activity. … Focus on one such organ, … and scanning deep within it, recognize the group of cells composing it, each tiny entity with life, consciousness, and intelligence. … Peer into one cell and see the group of molecular and atomic entities composing it. … Recognize the life, consciousness, and intelligence of each entity, … each group, … and of the groups of groups.
Further exploring this group residing in the subconscious world, turn your attention to the emotional field. … Recognize two groups present in this field; one group is composed of the personas of your previous incarnations. … Recognize each persona as the consciousness of one incarnation identified as the thought-form mask it wore in the world of affairs. … Then look out over the group of all of these personas and recognize the huge influence this group has on the present persona. … Recognize that in one sense, the present persona, who regards itself as an individual, IS this widely divergent group, … yet, a group able to be integrated into a group consciousness through the wise use of love and identity.
Still focused in the emotional field within the subconscious, recognize the other major group, the wish life. See this great group entity composed of all the consciousness from each incarnation that was unable to detach from all the desires, aversions, ambitions, and wishes of that incarnation. … See this group as forming part of the entity, the dweller on the threshold. … Recognize the extent to which the present incarnation is influenced by and identified as this widely divergent group … yet, a group able to be integrated into a group consciousness through the wise use of love and identity.
Experience the evolution of consciousness within this subconscious world. Start from the consciousness confined within the identity as the physical body. Recognize that this “I” , this self, has limited itself within one tiny ring-pass-not. Experience this consciousness gradually expanding to include the totality of the group life that has made possible appearance in time and space: the consciousness of the physical/etheric, emotional, and mental lives one uses as vehicles. … Experience this self eventually including the consciousness of the group of previous personas, and the wish life, together these are known as the area of embodied growth … Experience this self eventually becoming one with the consciousness held captive within all these forms.
Still within the subconscious world, turn the attention to the kingdoms in nature. See each kingdom indwelt by the consciousness of the Planetary Logos, such that each kingdom has its own soul, its own consciousness, and its own evolution of consciousness woven into the fabric of the planetary consciousness.
Recognize that, by design, consciousness of all the kingdoms come together in the human being, and are contained within a ring-pass-not…. By design, human consciousness incorporates some of the consciousness that has been a part of the soul of the mineral kingdom, … a part of the soul of the plant kingdom, … and a part of the soul of the animal kingdom. Extend identification to include the consciousness of all of the kingdoms in nature that meet within you and that give you presence. … As part of the Plan, see this aggregate of the soul of all the kingdoms evolving as a human being.
Recognize that as you expand the consciousness to include more and more of the subconscious worlds, the consciousness is expanding spherically to include more and more of the superconscious worlds. Realize that all of this consciousness is the consciousness of, is the Soul of, the Planetary Logos. … See the individualized Spirit or Spark of Planetary Life within the sum total of this consciousness move it along through the evolutionary process, until the sum total of consciousness attains Mastery. … See this great process as the synthesis of the consciousness of the One Life.
As you begin to realize what it means to identify as Soul, expand the upper half of the sphere. … Realize that just as you are an aggregate of the group consciousness below the surface of your appearance (your presence), you are also a group consciousness above that surface, … group consciousness within the spiritual kingdoms. … Identify with the One Life.
Now, carry this one step further. Let us take it from meditation into activity, outward, into your daily life and affairs. Do not only realize that you, yourself, are a group and that you are becoming conscious of that group which you are, … but that so is every other so-called individual with whom you come in contact a group; and that as you relate to that individual, you must do so as a group to a group; that right relationship manifests as brotherhood because the totality of each group is brought into rapport in love, so to speak, with each other.
Every individual you contact is Humanity, and as Humanity that individual is a vehicle through which the Logos expresses himself. Whether you can cognize the details of it or not, realize that your human consciousness is a focal point for the assemblage of, … the synthesis of the consciousness living within all atoms, … living within the myriad of forms displaying the mineral kingdom, … displaying the plant kingdom, … displaying the animal kingdom, … within the forms expressing the Hierarchy, … and within the forms expressing Shamballa. … Realize that your humanity is an individualization of the Humanity of the Logos … reaching into the depths of the substance of this planet and the solar system … with the will to love.
And seal this ongoing process open with an OM.
